B.S.C. FAQs
- Are there memberships still available?
- Answer: The club does have a limit to the number of memberships sold. We have historically had a waiting list to join the club and generally fill our membership by mid to end of May each year.
- Do you ever turn members away because of crowding?
- We cap our family memberships. This helps control crowding and gives members room. In 2016, we invested just under 1 million dollars to expand the footprint of our club and added a new splash park, kiddie pool, decking and seating.
- The expansion was an objective of the board of directors to offer “more” for the children and families to experience at the club.
- What is the cost for a family membership?
- Answer: Our membership offerings are listed here.
- Who manages the club Operation?
- Answer: The operation of the club is overseen by a group of volunteers called the board of directors. The board meets monthly to set and review budget and the management of capital improvements for the year. Our goal is to offer an extraordinary value at a reasonable price while we promote teaching our children the art of swimming. Membership revenue is reinvested annually to maintain the club. We rely on our staff and volunteer base to operate the club.
- Can you bring your own food and drinks into BSC?
- Answer: Yes, we have a very large, tented area with picnic tables available. We are governed by the local health and inspectional services which states that food cannot be allowed around the deck of a swimming pool. Safety is clearly the first concern. Glass is not allowed on the pool deck or picnic area. Members can have a plastic water bottle on the pool deck. All other food and drink must be consumed in the picnic area. Members should store coolers on the racks provided when not eating. The club offers a snack bar with a wide variety of meal and snack options. There is also a grill that is available after 5pm each evening for members to prepare their own meals at the club. Members are permitted to bring their own beer and wine.
- Can I drop off my child for swim team or swim lessons?
- Dropping off and leaving children ages 12 and under at BSC is strictly prohibited. This includes lessons and teams. Children ages 12 and under must be in the care of an adult.
- Children 16 or older may stay and/or use the facilities at the BSC without supervision during all Pool(s) hours.
- Children 13-15 years old may stay and/or use the facilities at the BSC without supervision until 5PM. After 5 pm they must be accompanied by an adult.
